New Feature on Pinterest: Change your Main Board Images

Penned by Janet Thaeler

Pinterest just added a new feature that we love. Borrowing from Facebook, Pinterest has called the main image on every board the “cover image.” Since changing the look of profiles, we’ve seen some ugly “board cover.” But there was nothing you could do to make them better. That has changed.

Pinterest now allows you to choose the image that represents each board. Here’s how:

  1. Hover your mouse over the main image on your board.
  2. Click the “edit board cover” button.
  3. Choose the best image to display on the board – and click “set cover” to save it.
Be sure to choose an image that best sells the content you have on your board. The cover should make people want to click. I find that a simple image works best – if it’s too busy then it will compete with the other images and look cluttered.

Have you seen any amazing cover photos? Please share with the URL in the comments.

I find that it’s not saving the pictures for me. Anyone else got the same problem. It says “saving” and locks up!

@Juliet: That may be an issue with your browser. Firefox does that to me at times.

I’m a Chrome girl. I’d so hate that to be the reason, Paul. :(

You were right. It worked fine on IE. A browser issue indeed! Thanks, much.
