Editor’s note: This is a guest post from David Cowling of Australia’s Social Media News blog.
We have all heard the numbers: 12 Million Pinterest users and growing.
Let’s have a look – ‘down under’. In the land of Australian many people have embraced Pinterest and accessing the site for both personal use and business purposes. It also seems that there are many people visiting Pinterest that don’t yet have accounts. Maybe they are in the sign up grace period and have to wait till their login has been setup, or they want to go and see what all the hype is about.
I have put together this infograph showing some key stats, as reported by Google AdPlanner. No-one else in Australia had any idea about user numbers or info. On-top of that Pinterest haven’t released anything for this region, nor any other marketing or metric compilers. So I wanted to jump in and find out what I could.
Unlike Facebook, this social network is not dominated by Gen Y. We can see a more mature and business savvy audience taking advantage of this photo/pinning social network.
In terms of Social Media in general – us Aussies are right up there in terms of engagement and usage. We are a social bunch and social networking comes rather natural. I’ll be keeping an eye on Pinterest usage in Oz and you are welcome to follow me on my Social Media Blog. This infographic was originally published here.
In addition to this, if I find some topical information that will benefit the Pinnable Business community – I’ll certainly be back here to share that with you.
Thanks,
David Cowling
